About
OCHC

With our mission to Serve Community, Witness Christ, and Love in Action, Orange County Herald Center (OCHC) is committed to serving the Chinese community in Orange County (OC) through offering a wide array of community services including cancer education, patient care, youth leadership training, mental wellness education, immigrant assistance, and resources navigation and counseling.

Since its establishment in 2014, OCHC has hosted hundreds of educational focused events and programs on health, cancer prevention, youth leadership, and citizenship. Both in-person and online, OCHC has helped Chinese community members in OC increase their awareness and improve their attitudes towards cancer screening, breast health, mental wellness, community care, and good citizenship. In addition, OCHC also provides on-site services for language assistance, Cover CA enrollment, immigration application, social service navigation and more.

OCHC’s compassionate and impactful programs and services have been so well-received by the Chinese community in OC that many clients become volunteers and donors to support OCHC’s mission. As a result, OCHC’s workforce, fiscal, and service capacity has grown 10 times since its inception.

Our Services

Currently, our ministry departments include Cancer Care Ministry (CCM), Holistic Youth Education (HYE), Community Service/Outreach Team (CST), and Office Management Team (OMT), with counseling services operating independently by Herald Family Center.

OCHC’s operation is sustained by ministry income, grants, and donations. Our budget has increased over 10 times in 7 years. Expenditures are closely monitored and reported according to guidelines set by the Chinese Christian Herald Crusades headquarter, which conducts annual audits to ensure adequate fiscal control.

The Commitment

OCHC is confident that the proven record and continual growth of our quality services and programs will continue to support more revenue, funding and sponsorships for our organization’s sustainability. We will continue to engage, educate, encourage, equip, and empower the Chinese community in OC to establish a network of individuals and organizations who are passionate about contributing resources and services that help increase the capacity of OCHC and health equity of the Orange County community.

Thank you Lord for your Guidance and Provisions

Caring, equipping, educating, and serving is the core of our ministry. Through compiling community resources, connecting with mainstream organizations, hosting community events, and training volunteers, we continue to extend our services. We commit our ministry, our project, and our clients into His hands for we believe God is able “through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think”. He will show us how to build a healthy and harmonic community in Orange County.
