Job Title: Health Equity Program Manager

Compensation: $22- 26 per hour

Weekly Hours: Full/part time (70% onsite)

Job Summary

The Health Equity Program (HEP) Manager will plan and oversee programs and services related to an array of community health equity building projects in areas of mental health, cancer care, and other social determinants of health that improve the well-being of the OC Chinese immigrant community. OCHC’s HEP

includes training, workshop, class, conference, and resource navigation that increase knowledge of mental health, reduce stigma, and elevate well-being of individual, family, and community at large, as well as advocacy for resources and policies that support such endeavor. The HEP Manager’s role also includes community liaising, partnership building and long-term program planning and development.

Specific Duties

  • Design, plan, execute and monitor services/activities that promote individual well-being and improve community health equity building
  • Manage grant projects, design curriculum, and oversee program operation
  • Recruit, supervise, train, and, evaluate staff, interns and volunteers
  • Conduct/attend internal and external meetings and make report to OCHC director
  • Identify and participate community coalitions, committees & events
  • Develop community relations and funding opportunities to expand capacity
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning and contribute to OCHC sustainability

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Education, Social work, Psychology, Public Health or other social science fields
  • 3+ years of work experience in related field and 5+ years of community service experience
  • Passionate to serve with God’s love and uphold Christian core values
  • Experienced in working with public service agencies, community base organizations, and researchers
  • Familiar with social media outreach and organization of promotional campaigns
  • Organized, detail oriented with good time management and strong problem-solving skills
  • Positive and proactive working attitude with the ability to lead a team of staff and interns
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point and media editing program, and familiar with Drop Box and Google Drive
  • An effective communicator with understanding of immigrant culture, able to converse in Mandarin a plus
  • Able to commit to attending occasional events & meetings on Saturdays (6-8 times/year)
