My name is Emily and I got the chance to attend YMM this session and dive deeper into being a mental health advocate. So a positive impact that YMM had on my personal life is teaching me to be able to help others that are going through hard times. A couple of my own friends suffer from mental health disorders and from YMM, I’m now able to learn how to spread positivity to them and be there for them. Each week I learned something new, but a big takeaway for me was learning about social, physical, cognitive, and spiritual coping mechanisms. Sometimes I find myself in a place of stress – it’s hard to handle, so listing down some coping mechanisms will help me and others get through hard times in a healthy way. Lastly, an action I want to take to be a mental health advocate in my community is to spread kindness and positivity in school or any other social part of my life. I also want to be able to assist my peers that suffer from mental health disorders, and let them know that they are not alone.
我參加了青少年心理健康導友培訓班(YMM),並進一步成為心理健康倡導者。這次培訓班給了我個人非常正面的影響。我學會了如何幫助處於困境的人。我有幾個朋友患了精神疾病,經過學習,我現在知道怎麼對他們傳播正面的信息並提供幫助。每一週我都學到一些新的東西,但是對我來說,最大收穫就是學習社會、身體、認知和精神上的應對機制。有時我感到壓力沉重,難以承受,我就列出一些應對機制來幫助我和其他人以健康的方式度過難關。最後,我希望能在社區中為心理健康導友做的事是在學校和我的社交生活傳播正能量、積極和良善。我還希望能為患有精神疾病的同齡者提供幫助,並讓他們知道他們並不孤單。
